Shannon Johnston
Shannon is a Senior Physiotherapist at Redfern and Alexandria Physiotherapy, with a strong background in Musculoskeletal and Sports Physiotherapy.
Originally from Auckland, New Zealand, Shannon recently relocated to Sydney after spending five years in a leading musculoskeletal clinic specialising in lower limb injuries, particularly knee-related conditions. Her clinical experience includes working with a range of athletes and active individuals, helping them recover from injury and return to their sport with confidence.
Shannon has also worked extensively with sports teams, including representative Netball squads and Premier Club Rugby teams, bringing a practical and sport-specific perspective to her treatment approach.
She takes a pragmatic, evidence-based approach to rehabilitation, focusing on reducing pain, restoring function, and supporting her patients to return to the activities they love as efficiently as possible. Shannon has a particular interest in ACL injuries and acute lower limb conditions, and her personal experience as a competitive netballer, including undergoing two ACL reconstructions, gives her a unique insight into the rehab journey. She understands the mindset and goals of athletes and is passionate about helping them navigate recovery with clarity and confidence.
