Patrick Gillingham
Patrick graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the University of Newcastle in 2016 and has since become a trusted clinician in private practice, known for his clinical precision and deep commitment to long-term outcomes. He has completed further training in dry needling, lower limb injury rehabilitation and the management of complex tendon conditions.
Patrick has developed a strong clinical interest in knee injuries, running-related pain and chronic lower back conditions. He believes that education, biomechanical understanding and structured progression are key to long-term success. His treatments blend manual therapy with high-level exercise prescription, guiding each patient from pain to performance.
At Redfern Physio, Patrick has developed two standout services: an evidence-based return to running framework for injured runners and a 12-week performance program for recreational runners. The performance program combines individualised biomechanical testing, running-specific gym programming and tailored load management plans to help runners reach their goals while reducing injury risk. Both services reflect Patrick’s elite-level understanding of running biomechanics and long-term rehabilitation planning.
Patrick is known for his infectious energy, clear communication, and genuine care for every client. His sessions are structured, educational and grounded in the latest research, leaving patients feeling both supported and motivated every time. Outside the clinic, Patrick maintains an active lifestyle through AFL and surfing, bringing a personal understanding of athletic performance and injury recovery to his clinical approach.
