Redfern Physiotherapy & Sports Medicine is a multidisciplinary health and injury clinic in the heart of Redfern. Our mission is to improve the health and well-being of our local community by providing best practice and elite level health services.

The clinic was established in 2016 by the team of physiotherapists who have been leading the South Sydney Rabbitohs in the NRL for the past 12 years – Steve Velovski and Eddie Farah. The demands and pressure of professional sport continue to grow with every single season. Sports medicine providers have to be at the cutting edge of sports science and rehabilitation. They have decided to take their unique skills to the wider community by setting up a brand new clinic in the heart of Redfern.
As well as advanced skills and knowledge in sports rehabilitation, our services also cater to a wide range of musculoskeletal and orthopaedic complaints and to people of all ages. Our clinic is equipped with a fully functional gym, which will allow us to rehabilitate your injury through individualised and targeted exercise programs.

Our staff at Redfern Physiotherapy do not just treat the pain, they educate you: long-term success is about constant management. The focus is fully on getting patients back to what they love most. After your initial treatment session, every client will be emailed a detailed management plan.This will include a diagnosis, your goals, the cause of your problems, our management plan and an expected recovery time frame. It will also include plan for the expected number of session required over this period. This will help you to plan and book your sessions well in advance, allowing you lock in the most suitable times around your schedule. To ensure optimal outcomes from your treatment, it is imperative that you see your physiotherapy management plan through to its completion.

Sports Injuries – We will assist to treat and rehabilitate any injuries or complaints sustained during sporting activities. These may be either acute injuries resulting in fractures, tears or bruising, or overuse injuries such as inflammation, tendinitis, and muscle spasm. Whether you have pulled up sore from a game over the weekend, have an ongoing issue or have suffered a serious injury, the team at Redfern Physiotherapy and Sports Medicine are here to help

Neck and Back pain – Our physiotherapists are highly trained in manual therapy skills and developing comprehensive exercise rehabilitation programs.  We will assess your condition to determine the best course of action to reduce your pain and disability.  This may include advice such as postural adjustments and modifications to your daily activities, which may be aggravating your symptoms

Post-operative rehabilitation (including Knee and Shoulder reconstructions) – Following any orthopaedic procedure a guided rehabilitation program is crucial to a successful outcome. Our physiotherapists will work to help avoid any potential complications post-op and also to guide you towards returning to your full function as quickly and safely as possible.

Dry Needling – Dry needling involves inserting acupuncture needles into sensitive ‘trigger points’ in muscles which relieves tension and pain and restores the normal function of the muscle

Workplace injuries and Third Party injuries – The Physiotherapists at Redfern Physiotherapy and Sports Medicine are highly experienced and competent in working with injuries under the Workers Compensation and Compulsory Third Party Schemes, with an in-depth understanding of the importance and benefits of a safe and durable recovery.

All our therapists are WorkCover approved. As part of managing your injuries, we will work closely with your nominated treating doctor, insurance case managers and employers to help streamline the return to work process.

Chloe is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian and Sports Dietitian who loves motivating her clients to make health changes to be the best they can be. She has extensive experience in the field and is currently the Dietitian looking after the Parramatta Eels NRL team

The range of massage techniques can include remedial massage, sports massage, deep tissue massage, myofascial release and trigger point therapy. Our experienced team of therapists have worked across a range of various areas including the elite level of sports in Australia.
